Platysma

Platysma is a thin broad sheet of
Subcutaneous muscle also called
The muscle of the neck.it arises
From the deep fascia covering
The pectoralis major muscle run
Upwards and medially towards
The root of the neck and inserted
Into the lower and posterior part
Of the face and base of the mandible
Platysma is supplied by a branch of
 facial nerve when the angle of
Mouth is pulled down the muscle
Contract and provides wrinkles to
The skin of the neck.
It protect the external jugular vein
From external pressure which
Underlies the muscle.
